Mental Health and The Performing Arts

The Performing Arts have a unique, intersectional relationship with mental health, that spans the industry from training, to performance, to business management.

Early in 2022, Equitys Mental Health Charter was launched, in line with a sharp increase in experiences of mental health issues, and a growing awareness of how that impacts individuals and businesses within the entertainment sector. 

​

Being well prepared in adopting relevant safeguards and practices, is now vital for staying at the forefront of developing industry standards, and meeting mental health challenges for companies and employees.

​

With a combined 28 years experience in professional theatre, teaching performing arts at university level, and as a fully qualified member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am ideally placed to support you in mental health risk assessment, training, compliance evaluation, and policy creation and implementation.
